About Torbjörn Fraenckel

Torbjörn Fraenckel works as a educational developer at the Unit for Pedagogical Development and Interactive Learning (PIL) at the University of Gothenburg. In his role, he focuses on the development of learning environments as well as coordinating productions in the PIL unit’s studio.

He has a background as a university lecturer in journalism at the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication (JMG), where he has taught, among other subjects, television journalism and studio production. As part of his work at PIL, he offers workshops for university teachers focusing on film and learning environments in teaching. These include, for example, workshops on producing educational videos using mobile phones, as well as workshops related to teaching environments such as Active Learning Classrooms (ALC) and rooms for hybrid teaching.

Torbjörn Fraenckel is a trained film producer with a background as a documentary filmmaker. He has previously worked at production companies and carried out productions for, among others, SVT.
