About Sophie Liljedahl

Sophie I. Liljedahl is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Gothenburg, Sahlgrenska Academy. She serves as Lead, Clinical Research for both the National Medical Care Unit for Severe Self-Harm Behaviour (AVD369) and The Centre for Personality Disorders (MPS) at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden. 

Sophie completed her doctorate in clinical psychology in a scientist-practitioner model of training in a Community Psychology lab in Ontario, Canada, informing her professional values of working alongside people to support their experience of liberation and well-being. She works on research and treatment development in the areas of self-harm and suicide prevention, personality disorders and their emerging and evidence-based treatments with a focus on recovery, life experienced as worth living, transcendence and flourishing.
