Research interests

My research interests concern clinical interventions for children and adolescents in primary care, as well as developmental psychology, primarily personality and identity development. Member of the research group The Gothenburg Group for Research in Developmental Psychology (GRID) and the Research Platform for Mental Health (VGR).

Current research

I'm a project leader for the reserach project, The effect and experience of the brief parental program AFFEKT within primary health care. This project examines the effect and experience of a brief parent intervention, AFFEKT, for parents of children with externalizing behaviors within primary health care. The project involves two separate studies. The first study includes an RCT study with outcomes that measures children’s externalizing behaviors and mental health, and the parents’ sense of competence, strategies, mental health and quality of life. The second study is a qualitative study that examine parents experience of the intervention AFFEKT, and how they perceive their child and relation to their child after the program.

My research is also conducted within the framework of a longitudinal project, GoLD - Gothenburg Longitudinal study of Development, which has followed the same individuals from childhood to adulthood. Within this work, I focus on identity development during adulthood and personality development over time, as well as the relationship to well-being. I also use a narrative perspective on identity and examine how people talk about difficult experiences in their lives.
