About Emelie Blomqvist
Emelie is a licensed radiographer with a specialization in radiotherapy and a doctoral student at the Institute of Health and Care Sciences, University of Gothenburg. Clinically, she works at the Radiotherapy Unit at Södra Älvsborg Hospital.
Her PhD project, “Photon and proton beam radiotherapy of anal cancer: A way of decreasing toxicity and improving health-related quality of life?”, is part of the national SWANCA study, a multicenter randomized controlled trial. The project focuses on anal cancer, radiotherapy, and patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), with the aim of mapping side effects and health-related quality of life.
She is a member of the research groups SAROC (Sahlgrenska Academy Research in Oncological Care), ProtonCare, and SWANCA, where research is conducted in close collaboration with clinical practice to contribute to the development of evidence-based cancer care.
