About Christer Ekholm

Born in 1966, PhD 2005. Primarily concerned with reception theoretical issues, secondarily with modern Swedish narrative, from working-class ficition to experimental prose.

Research interests

  • Reception theory, focusing on aspects of phenomenology, performativity and spatiality
  • Swedish modernism, focusing on its relationship with the concept of Bildung
  • Swedish working-class ficition

Ongoing and completed research projects

  • The Localisation of the Reader as an Aesthetic-Political Device, a postdoctoral project concerning the localisation of the reader-role from a speech-act-theoretical point of view.
  • Literature as an Agent of Bildung, on didactic tendencies in Swedish modernism.
  • Several studies on the authorships of Erik Beckman and Lars Ahlin.

Teaching

I am currently teaching and tutoring at different levels on courses in Comparative Literature, as well as on teacher training courses.
