About

The students will, in lectures and assignments, explore how globally defined social problems affect human beings on a local level and how different models of welfare states meet people’s needs. The students also have the opportunity to discuss and analyse ethical issues in relation to class, gender, ethnicity and place in a global perspective.

A major aim of the course is to give the students analytical as well as practical tools in order to understand, assess and problematize social problems and unequal power relations ships globally as well as locally.

The ethnically diverse group of students will also serve as a platform for discussions about power imbalance, human rights and social justice in a global social work context.
