The integrative geography of sport and outdoor recreation: addressing environmental sustainability challenges of transport and land use
Research project
Short description
This doctoral project examines proclaimed environmental sustainability challenges tied to outdoor recreational and sport activities. More specific, the project sheds light on how we choose to travel to and from these activities, but also how these activities are parts of a multifaceted land use. Based on a geographical perspective, the project’s point of departure is thereby that the activity that is performed is interdependent of how we travel there and vice versa. These two aspect are therefore studied within the same frame.
