Short description

This PhD-project investigates young people with intellectual disability and their activities online, but also what happens in the intersection between online and offline. More specific what characterizes their self-presentations on social media, for example what they choose to present and not present. Further, the aim is to study what meaning, function and consequence social media have in their identity formation. How young people with intellectual disability in interaction with others create identity and if it is possible to identify “alternative identities”. The project also investigates experiences of Internet-related support.
