Navigating policy clashes and conceptual confusion in return to work
Short description
The project explores how structures, policies, concepts and practices within the Swedish Social Insurance Agency affect i) return to work among people on sick leave with common psychiatric conditions and ii) collaboration with healthcare and employers. Work capacity is a central concept as it forms the basis for decisions about sick leave. It is a concept that can be perceived and applied differently by actors involved in return to work. We are also interested in norms and values in practice and decisions. We plan to investigate the relationship between changes in policy and regulations and time to return to work. The project is part of work package 5 (WP5) at the Centre for Return to Work - Interdisciplinary Primary Care Research at the University of Gothenburg - UGot ReWork.
