Short description

The Living and Policy Lab for Person-Centred Care and Long-Term Care is established as a joint initiative between academia, municipalities, business and research actors. The goal is to develop the future of care and long-term care through co-creation in research, innovation, education and implementation.
The collaboration is led by the University of Gothenburg via The Centre for Person-centred Care - GPCC, the Institute for Health and Care Sciences and in close collaboration with municipal care and long-term care actors, private care providers, research institutes and the business sector.

Longer description

Living and Policy Lab host

Primary care facilities within a municipality host Living and Policy Labs, with each unit establishing its own lab tailored to local needs and contexts.

Linking Pins

A PhD holding researcher, so-called Scientific Linking Pin, is linked to the care giver via a Practice Linking Pin to combine practice with academic expertise. The structure is taken from Europe's largest living lab in elderly care, Limburg Living Lab in Ageing and Long-term Care.

Goals and focus

The initiative will contribute to increased quality of life, improved quality of care and a strengthened work environment. The focus is on building capacity regarding person-centredness, competence provision, clinical application of new technology and improved governance.
