Short description

Update on epidemiology, diagnostic criteria, and treatment outcomes of cutaneous T-cell lymphomas

Mycosis Fungoides (MF) and Sézary syndrome (SS) are cutaneous T-cell lymphomas that are disfiguring chronic conditions and considered treatable, but not curable. The diagnosis can be challenging and both clinical aspects and symptoms vary greatly depending on the disease stage.

Despite the severity of the diseases, we lack knowledge on epidemiological and clinical features, histopathology, immunophenotypes and underlying molecular biology.

Although considered incurable, treatment for cutaneous lymphomas can stop disease progression, reduce pruritus, and contribute to achievement of disease control. Both topical and systemic treatments are used but it is unclear which treatment options are most effective.
