Tuberculosis in Västra Götaland

Aylin Yilmaz's research group studies various aspects of tuberculosis, including BCG infections after BCG instillation in the treatment of bladder cancer. This also includes studies on tuberculosis drugs. We also study complications of tuberculosis, such as post-tuberculous lung disease that can affect individuals who have had pulmonary tuberculosis, but also complications after other locations of tuberculosis. The overall aim of this is to be able to detect people at risk of more severe residual conditions earlier in order to be able to offer adequate care earlier and in a more structured way.
