The SOM Institute and Nordicom

The SOM Institute is also part of JMG. Nordicom is located in the same building.

The SOM Institute

The SOM Institute is an independent research organization at the University of Gothenburg and is affiliated with the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication (JMG).

Since 1986, the SOM Institute has worked to shed light on public opinion and to understand developments in Swedish society. It conducts its own research and collaborates with others in two major survey projects: the SOM Surveys and the Citizen Panel.

Nordicom

Nordicom is a centre for Nordic media research at the University of Gothenburg. It provides a comprehensive Nordic perspective on media, journalism, and mediated communication.
