When listening, communication and spontaneous musical expression come together, something unique happens – something that can only happen in the present moment. This concert is the result of an ensemble course that focuses on improvisation, where the French word ensemble takes on a double meaning: both the group and the act of being together.

Under the direction of Anders Hagberg, professor of musical performance, seven improvisational musicians offer a genre-transcending journey through rhythmic and melodic landscapes. The repertoire includes everything from innovative interpretations of joik and chorales to contemporary compositions by prominent jazz musicians – with influences from both Nordic and global traditions.

An evening where listening is as important as the sound, and where the music is allowed to emerge in the moment – together.
