Abstract

This talk revisits my work on social ontology, following up on earlier research on mind-dependence. I focus on how social entities can be mind-dependent yet objective. I argue that social objectivity arises from norm-governed correctness and intersubjective stability, not observer-independence. This preserves explanatory power, allows for error and critique, and presents social reality as robust, normatively structured, and collectively sustained.
