Science and Celebration featuring Fredrik Bäckhed

The Institute of Medicine wants to celebrate advances and successful research to inspire everyone who works at the Institute. We are therefore launching a series of lectures, organized by the Research Committee. The idea is to invite and celebrate, for example, the main authors of an influential publication. The authors will describe their work in a popular science style, providing a short background and discussing the novelty of their work and the potential implications for their field. After the presentation we will toast the speakers and mingle with some bubbly and snacks.

At this event, we will celebrate Fredrik Bäckhed and his collaborators. In a popular scientific talk, Fredrik will tell us about the background, work and results related to their recent publication in Nature Medicine:

Microbiome-metabolome dynamics associated with impaired glucose control and responses to lifestyle changes.
