The yearning of young lovers; hope and despair, passion and tragedy are woven together in a mesmerising ballet in three acts to the magnificent music of Sergei Prokofiev. This is a brand new ballet version of William Shakespeare's classic love story, performed with a full ballet ensemble and orchestra.

The story is told through traditional classical ballet and acting by the Swedish Young Ballet, together with dancers from the Royal Ballet and the Stora Teatern's former ballet ensemble, with guest artist Marianne Mörck as Amman. Sergei Prokofiev's music is played by musicians from the University of Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, consisting of students from the classical music programmes at the Academy of Music and Drama.
Conductor: Lars Kvensler.
