Mattias Wahlström has recently been appointed Professor of sociology at the department and is, on this occasion, giving an inaugural professorial lecture. The theme of the lecture brings together different aspects of Wahlström’s research on social movements, repression, and political violence, through a particular focus on the role of narratives in collective action.
