The National Center for Mathematics Education (NCM) and the teacher education department at the University of Gothenburg welcome you to the Mathematics Biennial 2026 in Gothenburg.
Over two days, 29–30 January 2026, the Mathematics Biennial will be held in Gothenburg with the theme Mathematics – a topic of conversation.
About the program
The program will include interesting and topical lectures with a focus on mathematics education, as well as inspiring workshops where lecturers share various exercises and activities. Both local and international lecturers are invited and teachers from schools around the country will have the opportunity to inspire each other through idea exhibitions and lectures.
Between sessions, coffee and lunch will be served, but there will also be time for a tour of the various stands where many companies, educational publishers, school authorities and mathematics-related associations are exhibiting.
In addition to a packed program of lectures and workshops, there is of course time for social activities such as a banquet on Thursday evening. The Biennial offers a place for both fun reunions and new acquaintances and a unique opportunity for further education and networking. The Biennial is a meeting place for everyone who is interested in mathematics education and mathematics didactics. Teachers, school leaders, researchers, students, teaching material authors, debaters and others – come and talk about mathematics!
