In recent years, AI-generated images and films have developed at a breakneck pace, and with each passing day it becomes increasingly difficult to distinguish a generated image or film from a “real” one.
In this conversation, we explore the shift from widespread trust in images to escalating distrust. What consequences do AI images have for our relationship to politics, public debate, science – and to each other? How is our trust, or distrust, in mass media and information flows affected when it becomes increasingly difficult to determine what is “real”?
