Academic Exchange with London Business School Dean Sergei Guriev
In connection with the Tore Browaldh Lecture at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg, the department had the opportunity to meet Professor Sergei Guriev, Dean of London Business School, for a research discussion.
"In our research meeting with Professor Guriev, we had a chance to follow up with questions on yesterday’s lecture and on other topics related to his fascinating and very important research on authoritarian regimes, populism and the political economy of social media. Professor Guriev's current research agenda is central for understanding many aspects of the current political landscape in Europe and around the world", says Head of Department Ola Olsson.
The lecture, titled “The Political Economy of Social Media: Incentives, Disinformation, and Incumbency in the Mobile Era,” was introduced by Vice Dean Ola Bergström and moderated by Cecilia Malmström, Visiting Professor and former Member of the European Commission and the European Parliament.
