About Veronica Lilja
Background
Veronica is a registered nurse with a Master’s degree in Public Health and earned her PhD in Health and Care Science in 2025. As a nurse, she has experience from a variety of healthcare settings, including medical acute care ward, emergency departments, hematology unit, infectious disease ward, postnatal ward, and Min Doktor clinics. She has also worked as a healthcare developer, focusing on cancer prevention as well as the development and implementation of an eHealth tool in cancer care. Her doctoral thesis was conducted within the EAPER-P (Early, Accessible, Person-Centred Rehabilitation for People with Long-Term Pain) project and focused on the meaning of support for people living with chronic pain, as well as effect- and process evaluating of a remote person-centred intervention. The thesis employed qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, and multi-method research approaches.
Current Role
Since 2026, Veronica has been employed as a Lecturer at the Institute of Health and Care Sciences. She teaches within the Bachelor of Science in Nursing programme and the bridging programme for nurses educated outside the EU/EEA. She serves as course coordinator for OM2800 (Clinical Practice) and RA2800 (Nursing, pharmacology and clinical skills). Her teaching areas include the nursing process, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, degree projects, quality improvement, and eHealth.
