Rani Basna is a mathematician, data scientist, computational scientist, and researcher at the Krefting Research Centre, University of Gothenburg. His current main research interest is the Biological application of Machine learning and algorithm development for Functional data types. Other research areas that of interest are Causal machine learning, Mean-field game theory, Stochastic Modeling, and Functional data analysis. Specifically, he is currently investigating many lines of application of machine learning and statical learning to obstructive airway disease data. This includes Deep Clustering, Deep Learning, and Probabilistic Graphical Models such as Bayesian Network analysis. This reveals the computational aspects of epidemiology and clinical studies of obstructive airway diseases. Rani has had experience working as a Data scientist in the marketing industry for around two years.
