Department of SurgeryAbout Jenny Nyqvist-Streng
I have been working as a senior consultant in surgery at Skaraborg Hospital since 2011. I obtained my PhD from the University of Gothenburg, focusing on genetic alterations in patients with breast cancer. My current research is primarily centered on breast cancer, with particular emphasis on prognostic factors and tumor biology. I am actively involved in several national and Nordic research networks and lead projects at the interface of clinical surgery, oncology, and translational research.
In parallel with my clinical and scientific work, I hold several leadership positions, including Regional Process Leader for Breast Cancer within the Västra Götaland Region, as well as membership in the Research Council at the University of Gothenburg and the Research Council and grant review board at Skaraborg Hospital. I am also course director for training in research and development methodology for surgical residents and have previously held several educational and organizational roles, including residency program director and head of unit.
My research has resulted in multiple publications in international peer-reviewed journals and is characterized by a strong focus on clinical relevance, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the implementation of research findings into clinical practice. I aim to integrate clinical experience with scientific development in order to improve diagnostics, treatment, and patient care.
