Isabel Köhler is a doctoral student in sociology at the Department of Sociology and Work Science, University of Gothenburg. Her dissertation explores motherhood as a mobilizing discourse and identity in anti-gender movements in Sweden and Germany.
Her research is driven by questions of gender, power, and the family, with a particular interest in how these concepts are mobilized in political and social struggles. She is also one of the co-coordinators of the department’s feminist sociology research group FEMSEM.
She holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Göttingen, a Master’s in Political Science from Rutgers University, and a Master’s in Gender Studies from Uppsala University.
Teaching
Isabel has taught and supervised at both the bachelor’s and master’s levels. Her experience includes thesis supervision and examination, lecturing, and leading seminars. She has contributed to teaching in areas such as qualitative research methods and gender in social movements.
