Elke Schubert-Hjalmarsson is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, and a Certified Specialist in Pediatric Physiotherapy with more than 30 years of clinical experience. Her research focuses on pain, fatigue, physical activity, and sensorimotor function in adolescents with hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD) and hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS). As part of her postdoctoral research, she will also investigate respiratory function and breathing interventions in children with mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS). She collaborates with national and international research groups, including researchers at Stanford University. By combining clinical practice and research, she aims to improve assessment, treatment, and long-term health outcomes for children and adolescents with complex and chronic conditions.
