Om Elke Schubert Hjalmarsson

Elke Schubert-Hjalmarsson är postdoktor vid Sahlgrenska akademin, Göteborgs universitet, och specialistfysioterapeut inom pediatrik med över 30 års klinisk erfarenhet. Hennes forskning fokuserar på smärta, trötthet, fysisk aktivitet och sensorimotorisk funktion hos ungdomar med hypermobilitetsspektrumtillstånd (HSD) och hypermobil Ehlers-Danlos syndrom (hEDS). Som postdoktor kommer hon även att forska om andningsfunktion och andningsträning hos barn med mukopolysackaridos (MPS). Hon samarbetar med nationella och internationella forskningsmiljöer, däribland forskare vid Stanford University. Genom att kombinera klinisk erfarenhet och forskning vill hon bidra till bättre bedömning, behandling och långsiktiga hälsoutfall för barn och ungdomar med komplexa och långvariga hälsotillstånd.

Elke Schubert-Hjalmarsson is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, and a Certified Specialist in Pediatric Physiotherapy with more than 30 years of clinical experience. Her research focuses on pain, fatigue, physical activity, and sensorimotor function in adolescents with hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD) and hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS). As part of her postdoctoral research, she will also investigate respiratory function and breathing interventions in children with mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS). She collaborates with national and international research groups, including researchers at Stanford University. By combining clinical practice and research, she aims to improve assessment, treatment, and long-term health outcomes for children and adolescents with complex and chronic conditions.
