About Britta Utter
As a PhD student since autumn 2023, my research is focused on teachers' beliefs about teaching beginning readers in primary school. Three studies form the basis for a synthesis thesis, planned for completion in autumn 2027.
My previous pedagogical experience comes from 35 years of work as a teacher in leisure care, a primary school teacher, and as a principal and school leader in primary schools. The mission of education for democracy is a driving force behind my engagement in research and development work. Being able to read and write, and thereby being able to influence society and one's own future, is a right for all citizens regardless of social, linguistic or cultural background.
