Currently I am in my second year in my master’s in molecular biology and I am doing my master thesis in the field of Alzheimer’s.
In my free time, I like going out with friends, hitting the gym, reading books regarding psychology or trying new cuisines (currently in love with Korean food). I would really like to add to these activities hiking or bouldering, but I don’t have so much free time.
Honestly, I chose Gothenburg because of it’s work-life balance, the calmness and the quiet but also for it’s natural beauty. Where else can you find such a captivating landscape as Delsjön?
One fun fact about me: I have a quirky obsession- collecting funny and cartoonish socks. If you spot me in public don’t hesitate to ask me about my socks; chances are they will have a humorous design.

I study the Master's in Environmental Sciences. I am from France but I have always been fascinated by Scandinavian countries. During the second year of my Bachelor's degree I was able to do an internship in Gothenburg and I liked it so much that I decided I would be doing my Master's here. And it worked out!
There are always things to see/do in Gothenburg- diversity, nature, culture and great food are all here.
Fun fact about me: I am part of GU's Urban Gardening Group (as I love food and nature) and am currently doing my second Master's degree in Gothenburg (the first one was: Master's in Atmosphere, Climate and Ecosystems).

I´m studying the Marine Science master´s programme, focusing on marine biology. I already knew I wanted to study marine biology when I was in high school, but since my country does not offer a degree like that, I had to look abroad. I´ve always been fond of the Nordic countries and when I stumbled across GU, I knew it was the place for me.
Fun fact about me: I am a bookworm and love all things fantasy and folklore. One of my dreams (which might never come true haha) is to write my own book one day.

I'm studying the master’s in Marine Science. My adventure in Sweden kicked off with an exchange semester. What attracted me to choose Sweden was its student life, which gives a perfect balance between work and play and international environment. So when I found this Marine Science program of the University of Gothenburg, which offers opportunities to study at two research facilities and also to be on board the research vessel, I couldn't resist applying!
Fun fact about me: Even though I’m studying marine science, I cannot swim 😂 I used to have water phobia so I couldn't swim but I'm currently learning to swim!

I am pursuing a Master's in Sea and Society. Hailing from the coastal region in Kenya, my love for the sea and its offerings is profound. The tranquillity it provides captivates me. The interdisciplinary nature of the program, with students from diverse backgrounds and countries, enriches my learning experience. The hands-on and practical aspects, including field trips across various locations in Sweden, are particularly enjoyable.
Fun fact: I am currently undertaking an internship at the WMU-Sasakwa Global Ocean Institute in Malmo, Sweden, as part of the stipulated course requirements. This opportunity allows me to apply classroom knowledge in a practical working environment, contributing to a valuable learning experience.

I am currently in my second year pursuing a Master’s in Chemistry with a focus in Environmental Chemistry.
Studying abroad has always been one of my biggest dreams while growing up and I was more that excited when I moved to Sweden. I chose Sweden because of the many opportunities available to financially support my studies. I won the fully funded scholarship with the Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals (SISGP). The SISGP offers a unique opportunity for me to develop both professionally and academically, experience the Swedish culture and build long-term relationships with both Sweden and other scholarship recipients.
I will be spending my second year of my master’s working on my project at the Atmospheric Science Division. I have had the opportunity to do Beamtime measurements at MAX IV Synchrotron Laboratory in Lund in relation with my thesis. MAX IV facility is the largest and most ambitious Swedish investment in research infrastructure, and it is the most advanced source of x-rays worldwide.
Fun fact: I play basketball on roller skates😊
