About a quarter of greenhouse gas emissons come from transportation, a number that has been going up for more than 20 years. Transportation contributes a lot of the carbon emissions that cause climat change. To fix this, we need to invest in sustainable infrastructure which can help adress global challenges and achieve sustainability targets. However, such infrastructure transformation requires extensive investments estimated at of around $90 trillion from 2015 to 2030, with 60% of it allocated to energy and transportation sectors.

There is currently a $15 trillion investment gap globally for infrastructure, with road transport having the highest investment gap. To overcome these barriers and meet the financial requirements requires an understanding of the changing roles of traditional and non-traditional actors in financing and their capacity to fill the budget gap for transforming infrastructure assets. During this years’ SCSF conference we will meet some of the leading actors in the ongoing transition of the transport system.
