Quantitative Methods in Educational Research
About
You will learn how quantitative methods can be used to investigate research questions in educational science. You will explore quantitative research designs, measurement, validity, reliability, generalizability, and research ethics. You will also discuss how to choose appropriate research designs and sample sizes and how to ensure that research is scientifically sound.
You will also learn how to apply basic statistical methods to test hypotheses and answer research questions. The course combines an understanding of key quantitative concepts and terminology with practical applications of statistical analysis. You will work with concrete examples from educational research and learn how to interpret results and draw valid conclusions.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for the course, a good first cycle degree in Social Sciences with a minimum of 60 credits in Education, or equivalent is required. Applicants must prove their knowledge of English: English 6 or English, level 2 from Swedish Upper Secondary School or the equivalent level of an internationally recognized test, for example TOEFL, IELTS.
