About
The course covers central principles in quantitative research, such as operationalization, causality, and inference. You will work with statistical analysis methods and learn to manage and analyse data in a transparent and reproducible manner. The course places continuous emphasis on correct interpretation of results, methodological assumptions, and common risks of invalid conclusions.
The course is on campus. Teaching consists of lectures, exercises, lab sessions, and mandatory seminars. Assessment takes place through seminars and a written in-person examination.
Prerequisites and selection
Entry requirements
Admission to the course requires a pass in at least 5 credits in quantitative methods or statistics at first-cycle level, or equivalent, as well as at least 7.5 credits from a core course at second-cycle level in a social science subject, or equivalent knowledge. In addition, language proficiency equivalent to English 6 or English Level 2 is required.
Selection
Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits.
