Short description

This project investigates the association between cancer-related fatigue and radiation dose to the central nervous system in patients with malignant brain tumours treated with proton beam therapy.

The overall aim of this study is to determine the association between cancer-related fatigue and radiation dose to the central nervous system in patients with malignant brain tumours who have undergone proton beam therapy.

This retrospective study uses a descriptive design to investigate the relationship between different dimensions of fatigue over time and the integral dose to brain tissue, irradiated volumes and radiation dose to specific anatomical structures. The research questions are novel and, to our knowledge, have not previously been investigated. The study will use existing data to address its specific research objectives.
