Meet Gustaf - student at the MSc programme in Innovation and Industrial Management

Published

Gustaf Ström moved from Stockholm to Gothenburg to study business - but also in order to get closer to the industry that he was studying. He received his Bachelor’s degree at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg. Afterwards he started the master’s program Innovation and industrial management.

Why did you choose the School of Business, Economics and Law?
- The school’s connections to the trade and industry was important when I decided where to study, says Gustaf Ström.

How would you describe your experience as a student at the School?
- I think the opportunity to study abroad is great. We have hundreds of partner universities where we can go for exchange studies. I did my fourth semester in Wien, Austria and started building my international network during my studies. I feel half a year richer when it comes to international experience, says Gustaf Ström and adds:
- For me, study abroad is not just about being in another country for a period of time. It is about meeting new people from other countries and to really live the experience.

How are you preparing yourself for working life?
- I wrote my Bachelor’s thesis at a local company here in Gothenburg and during the project I spent most of his time at the company’s office. It was interesting to be in that environment and to get connections within the company. Hopefully I will have use of that experience when I graduate, says Gustaf Ström.
