Ethnologist with broad interests
Anna has just completed her MA in ethnology. She has a background in artistic work in music, dance and storytelling. Her interests lie at the intersection of cultural heritage, identity and how people create meaning in relation to history, body and place. This is also why she choose to do an internship at the Centre for Critical Heritage Studies.
"My impression is that the centre’s work brings together many of the perspectives I want to work on further, especially the connection between critical cultural heritage studies, contemporary social issues and public communication.I feel a strong conviction that these perspectives are more relevant than ever."
The goal of the internship
During the internship, the hope is to deepen the understanding of how research in the field can be communicated and anchored in new ways and forms outside of academia. Anna want to explore how her own experiences of design, sound and storytelling in, for example, social media, can contribute to making cultural heritage issues accessible to a wider audience.
"I also hope to have the opportunity to explore formats where analysis and artistic expression meet, and where cultural heritage is not just understood as something we look back on, but as something we live with and shape in the present."
