GPS400 Receives Funding to Digitise a Unique Photographic and Film Collection

The funding will primarily be used to digitise the Gothenburg Botanical Garden’s extensive photographic and film collection. The collection contains a rich body of visual material documenting the garden’s history, research, plant collections and educational activities.

The project brings together expertise from several fields, including the natural sciences, artistic research, the humanities and information technology. Researchers and colleagues from the Gothenburg Botanical Garden and the University of Gothenburg Library are also involved.

The three-year project aims to survey, digitise, analyse and provide access to the photographic and film collection and its associated metadata, while creating the conditions for their sustainable long-term preservation.
