Social Microbes
What are they and what can they do (for you)?
The social study of microbes (SSM) uses qualitative, analytic and artistic critical methods to investigate how humans, cultures and societies do and may conceive of and relate to the microbial world around and inside us, in emotions, thinking and practices. This workshop presents SSM and explores how it may translate to and from other research approaches and disciplines, as well as related practices, such as antimicrobial resistance policy and practice, one health policies related to global public health or environmental concerns, as well as the hot topic of global social pandemic preparedness and response.
Participation
Participation is free of charge and potentially relevant to research in any discipline across the humanities, health-, natural-, social- and technological sciences with an interest in how social dimension of how humans and societies interact with microbes may affect ideas of applications, policy or research direction or design.
