About the exhibition
This exhibition project hosts the working processes of nine artists from different countries and backgrounds who are in their first year of studies on the MFA in Fine Arts at HDK- Valand Academy – Art and Design. The experiments they are sharing are rooted in debates on publicness and the roles of art and artists in society.
Within these two weeks, you will encounter works related to the relationship between non-humans and humans, challenging rules and regulations, mistranslations, displacement and sound environment perception, family dynamics connected to memory, questions aroundidentities and contexts, care and community building, bodily rituals, challenging of aesthetic norms and experiences of temporary habitation.
The artworks, events, and reflections that came up in relation to Kulturhuset Bergsjön also aim to bridge artistic research with local communities through collective poetry readings, window paintings, floating sculptures, sonic experiences, creative workshops, communal singing, paintings, performative talks, collective gatherings, and ritualistic play.
The exhibition is free and open for all.
