Alexandre’s main supervisor has been Christine Bacon (BioEnv) with Marcelo Trovó (Botanical Garden of Rio de Janeiro) and Vidal Mansano (Botanical Garden of Rio de Janeiro) as co-supervisors,  and Bengt Oxelman as examiner. Alex defense is planned for April 1, and will take place in Brazil.

Short presentation
The legume genus Senna comprises over 300 species distributed across deserts, seasonally dry forests, savannas, and rainforests, and is notable for its long history of human use. This thesis provides a comprehensive phylogenomic, biogeographic, and taxonomic framework for the genus.
