Internationally acclaimed composer and choir conductor Eric Whitacre is visiting Gothenburg. On 7 October from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., he will lead a seminar for choir conductors and composers in the Vasaparken auditorium.

During the seminar, Eric Whitacre will share his music and artistry, his creative process and what inspires him to compose. He will talk about the importance of understanding and communicating song lyrics in a way that engages both the choir and the audience, and will offer tips on pronunciation and vocal technique for choir singers.

The seminar will be held in English, is free of charge and is aimed at choir conductors and composers.

Eric Whitacre to Gothenburg

Eric Whitacre's visit also includes an open rehearsal on 6 October at 7–9 p.m. and a concert on 7 October at 7–8.30 p.m., both at Annedalskyrkan. The visit is project managed by Anne Johansson and coordinated by Amy Elizabeth Wheeler. The concert and open rehearsal are being held in collaboration with Körcentrum Väst, UNGiKÖR, Sensus and the Cathedral Parish in Gothenburg. The seminar is being organised in collaboration with Körcentrum Väst and the Academy of Music and Drama.
