Summary:
Experimental work, particularly when using optical tweezers, can be both tedious and time-consuming. These instruments often require near-constant supervision by skilled operators, limiting both throughput and data collection. Here, we introduce a custom-built optical tweezers system that, for the first time, demonstrates true autonomous operation for advanced experiments such as DNA pulling. Our system can operate autonomously to for hours on end unlocking the potential to gather large amount of data and marking the beginning of the end for overtime in the lab.
