In this seminar Khaled Quzmar, general manager for the organisation Defence for Children International - Palestine (DCIP), will talk about how DCIP support the children during imprisonment and the work to support them once they are released.
In the seminar Khaled Quzmar main focus will be on how DCIP support the children during imprisonment and the work to support them once they are released. Khaled Quzmar has a Master in Human Rights from Galway, Irland, and is general manager for the organisation Defence for Children International - Palestine (DCIP).
DCIP supports Palestinien children arrested and imprisoned by Israeli military (500 - 700 children each year).
DCIP offers legal support in the military court, support to children and their families during the imprisonment and support in the reintegration process. DCIP documents and present data to the UN committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC). The visit to Sweden is part of the work to spread information about the situation for children of Palestine.
Palestinagruppen in Gothenburg is host for Khaled Quzmar and he will be in Gothenburg for two days. He will also do a talk this Monday evening at the City Library, Tuesday forenoon a seminar at Global studies and in the evening do a public talk at Frölunda Kulturhus.
