Dear all,
Please join us for the final conference of the Horizon-funded research project Human Rights Justifications (HRJust), taking place on Thursday 28 May at St Martin’s Hotel in Brussels.
The conference brings together researchers, civil society representatives and EU policy actors for a full day of discussion on the changing role of human rights. HRJust has studied how a new function of human rights is taking shape, where governments use human rights to justify political responses to crisis and security challenges.
Throughout the day, participants will discuss current challenges to human rights protection in Europe and beyond, including the role of the EU in a shifting world order, comparative perspectives from Taiwan and Europe, and the role of civil society in responding to changing political and legal landscapes.
Where: St Martin’s Hotel, Boulevard Charlemagne 80, Brussels
When: Thursday 28 May
The conference is open for participants from EU institutions, academia, think tanks and civil society organisations (within the thematic areas covered by the conference).
Participants are welcome to join the morning conference, the afternoon conference, or both.
