Seminar
With Or Rosenboim, Associate Professor in Contemporary History, Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna.
In contemporary international politics, migration remains a
topic of controversy and debate. In this talk, Rosenboim
explores how the experience and politics of migration have
shaped conceptions of displacement and belonging through
micro histories of families of migrants in 1860-1960. The talk
builds on her new book, Air and Love: A story of family,
displacement and food (Picador, 2024), which shows the central
role of displacement in shaping the modern world and its
political ideas.
