In September 2020, Ursula Von der Leyen announced the "New European Bauhaus” – an initiative aiming at creating  bridges between natural sciences, humanities, architecture, arts, performing arts, design and many other disciplines.” Since then, the initiative evolved to a vital dialogue about how to create these bridges meant to open up platforms for transdisciplinary research, education and practice for a more sustainable future.

I want NextGenerationEU to kickstart a European renovation wave and make our Union a leader in the circular economy. But this is not just an environmental or economic project: it needs to be a new cultural project for Europe.

Ursula Von der Leyen, President of the European Commission

On May 7th, The Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts at the University of Gothenburg is extending this dialogue and warmly invites you to join us and explore ways to transition into a more sustainable future, transforming public spaces with the means of design and performance as well as how to develop forms of transcreation between multiple disciplines.
