I'm a PhD candidate in history of literature, with a background as a journalist, author and literary critic in papers like Göteborgs-Posten. My dissertation has the working title "Between body and sex: Trans as a literary motif in Swedish literature postmodernity". I'm particularly interesten in how the body is depicted in relation to categoires such as sex and sexualitet, body and mind. The dissertation identifies morea than sixty novels and shorts stories with anything from perpheral trans motifs, to texts where a trans theme is central. I will focus my analysis on how trans is done as an effect of narrative strategies in four novels and one short story: Bengt Sundblads K.U.R, Peter Kihlgårds Fadder Teiresias vår, Ninni Holmqvists ”Kostym”, Aris Fioretos Sanningen om Sascha Knisch och Ann Lagerhammars Det som ögat ser. The project centers texts that have previously been forgotten or overlooked, as well as providing new readings of texts that haven't previously been analysed from at trans perspective.
