Iuliana is a doctoral student in Pedagogy whose research examines science outreach activities at Universeum Science Center.
Science outreach has become an important strategy for engaging diverse publics with science and broadening participation in scientific knowledge and practices. Iuliana's doctoral research adopts an ethnography-inspired approach to explore how families experience and engage with a science outreach programme at Universeum Science Center. Particular attention is given to science capital development and questions of equity and inclusion within informal science learning.
Research interests: Equity, inclusion and exclusion in science learning; experience-based learning; learning technologies.
Background: Iuliana has an interdisciplinary background spanning language and literature studies, information technology, and learning sciences.
