About E-Ping Rau
I am a forest ecologist who is interested in how tropical forest biodiversity, structure and functioning are affected by environment, human land use, and disturbance. Specifically, I work in close collaboration with the Project ARAÇÁ on the spatial prioritisation of forest restoration in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest (Mata Atlântica): I aim to infer patterns of biodiversity gains through forest restoration and regeneration over broad spatial scales, using a combination of remote sensing and field data with a modelling and machine learning approach. I am a member of the strategic research area BECC and the research networks GGBC and Focali.
