About Ashish Kc

He is a physician and perinatal epidemiologist and serves as an associate professor of global health and a senior lecturer at the University of Gothenburg. He currently coordinates the course on implementation research for doctoral students. He has over 12 years of experience in implementation research and has worked as a clinician, program director, and technical advisor to the United Nations and non-governmental organizations. He has served as a senior advisor to the American Academy of Pediatrics, the World Health Organization, and governments on issues related to health sector reforms and the development of national plans. He has led several projects to validate tools, interventions, and techniques, as well as evaluated their large-scale implementation. He was awarded the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences’ Swedish Institute of Global Health Transformation (SIGHT) Prize for 2021 and received Uppsala University’s Researcher Excellence Award (Oscar) in 2021. He has served as a supervisor and co-supervisor for over 5 doctoral students, 25 medical students, and over 25 master’s students in global health. He is an editor for PLOS One, PLOS Global Public Health, BMC Pediatrics, and the Maternal, Perinatal and Neonatology Journal. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles.
