Background/Teaching
I started my teaching career as a sixth-form teacher in Swedish, English and Latin. I have been a junior lecturer in English at the University of Gothenburg since 1994. My teaching experience includes undergraduate courses in English linguistics, where I specialize in grammar and phonetics, and academic writing in English. During the spring term of 2017 I am also teaching Latin grammar as part of the introductory course in Latin at the department. Between 2001 and 2008 I taught English grammar regularly at the Gothenburg programme at the University of Sussex in Brighton, Great Britain. Parallel to my teaching assignments I am writing a doctoral thesis in English linguistics.
I have written and published two Latin primers (2001 and 2016), aimed primarily at sixth-form students and students on introductory university courses in Latin. In 1997, I published a translation from Latin into Swedish of the Getica by Jordanes, which traces the origin and history of the Goths.
